New business partners form a winning team
Release Date : Wednesday, 08 Jun 2005
The words to the club song of AFL glamour side St Kilda are being sung loud and long throughout the corridors of Australia’s leading ICT Solutions company NEC Business Solutions, following the announcement today of a major business partnership.
The partnership, which has taken two months of extensive negotiations, sets a new precedence for corporations and sporting clubs and how they will work together in the future.
Under the arrangement, the St Kilda Football Club will become a business partner of the ICT giant.
The relationship which is expected to run over three years will see NEC pay St Kilda a monthly retainer to help create revenue streams where each will benefit significantly financially.
Furthermore as part of the deal, NEC will also receive the trappings afforded to a major sponsor like Captain and Coach apparel logos, 400 metres of parapet signage at Telstra Dome and other benefits.
Riaki Tanaka, managing director of NEC Business Solutions, said the partnership was a unique business relationship designed to ensure significant financial rewards for both organisations
“Gone are the days of just branding, having a pie with sauce and meeting the players after the game.
“This is about business, making sure the relationship is a success and both parties gaining maximum benefit and return for time, effort and investment,” he said.
Mr. Tanaka said NEC wants to ensure the money it and the St. Kilda Football Club have invested reap the financial returns expected from a long term business relationship.
“This relationship is based on KPI’s,” Mr. Tanaka said. ” I am confident both St Kilda and NEC will not only become a premiership team off the field, but work to ensure the ‘Club’ along with the other corporates of the St Kilda Football Club family help deliver premiership success.”
“NEC is proud to be involved with St Kilda and proud to be a member of the St Kilda corporate family.”
