Xen IPK Converged Communication System
You’re a small to medium enterprise and you want to punch above your weight. With the Xen IPK communication system your business can present customers with the same communication experience and features as the largest organisations.

NEC’s Xen IPK is a powerful system that allows you to converge your voice and data networks and enjoy the many advantages of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP): the future of business communications. The Xen IPK gives you choices: you can deploy traditional circuit-switched and/or VoIP solutions, or a combination of both, all from one system! This gives you the freedom to start with a traditional solution and add VoIP when you’re ready, protecting your investment.

Depending upon your specific needs, the Xen IPK is typically sold to customers too large for the Xen Topaz solution.  The Xen IPK in its basic configuration supports up to 32 digital handsets. Expanded configuration can accommodate up to 120 digital handsets and cascade configuration up to 320 extensions.

NEC’s range of Dterm Series i digital, Dterm Series IP and IPK Soft Phone system integral handsets provide user-friendly access to the full breadth of Xen IPK features tailored for the small to medium business market.

What is new

The following Xen IPK features are planned to be available on the 7th April, 2006.  The main focus of these new features is to improve SMB communication efficiency with their customers and between staff thus improving top line and bottom line performance.

  1. “Interactive Softkeys” which help unlock the full potential of 22 highly used IPK features to improve call handling efficiency and the user experience.  This is done by enabling user friendly access to features via Softkey prompts that step you through the operation of the feature.
  2. “Hot Key Pad” which improves user efficiency by removing one step from making a call. Outgoing or internal calls are made by directly dialling digits without having to press either the speaker key, trunk key or lifting the handset.
  3. Station Name length increase from 6 to 16 digits thus removing the need to truncate employee names and user or attendant station ability to conveniently program the Station Name.
  4. DNIS forwarding when calls are transferred to help the called party effectively process the call. Further, the DNIS will continue to be displayed 5 seconds after the call is answered to give additional time to see this information.
